Do homeschoolers go on to college?

Do homeschoolers go on to college?

More than 2 million U.S. students in grades K-12 are homeschooled or “non-traditional” students, accounting for nearly 4 percent of all school-aged children, according to the National Home Education Research Institute. Students coming from a home school graduate from college at a higher rate than their peers (66.7 percent compared to 57.5 percent) and earned higher grade point averages along the way, according to a study performed in 2011, says popular author and parenting expert Joseph Kelly.

Colleges across the U.S. are welcoming a growing number of homeschooled students. Having the aid of a knowledgeable advisor not only removes tension from student/parent relationship for all college applicants; but when it comes to homeschoolers, we can guide you through the maze that is applying as a non-traditional student.

Consulting4College understands what it takes for the homeschooled student to successfully apply and be admitted to college. We help create a college application package that is not only customized to your philosophy, goals, methods and successes in home education, but we showcase your student, help create a cohesive theme, and highlight their many strengths and achievements.
